BLANCA DeGARR

Blanca DeGarr was born in Los Angeles on April 20, 1973. Portraying the role of Patty on the NBC series, "Rags to Riches," is Blanca's first series part. As a baby, she was nicknamed "Pebbles," because she resembled the cartoon character. At the age of four, she was a bright, talkative little girl with a big vocabulary, who liked watching and imitating commercials on television.
After the family moved to San Diego, Blanca was enrolled in dancing classes at the local park and spent four years at the Coronado Theatre for Children. When a newly formed local playhouse recruited Blanca into their production of "Annie," a children's theatrical agent saw the play and, impressed with Blanca's performance, signed her to the agency.
Blanca began going out on commercial auditions and landed her first commercial with John Ritter in a public service spot. In the months that followed, Blanca did some modeling, some radio work and a small part in a play.
However, in 1985, Blanca's big break came when she was chosen as the Grand Champion Leading Lady on "Junior Star Search." She immediately began going out on auditions and signed with a leading children's theatrical agency.
In April of 1986, Blanca auditioned for and won the role of Patty in "Rags to Riches." With so much of the hour-series containing music, Blanca had to add singing lessons to her
list of outside activities, but it seems she has a natural singing voice as well.
Now that she is preparing to begin filming the second season of the series, Blanca and her family have decided to move from their home in San Diego to that is closer
to the studio.
With so many new avenues to explore, it seems Blanca's career has just begun.
