Bridget Michele is one of the rare breed of native Californians and a true all-American girl. She is currently starring in the NBC musical drama series, "Rags to Riches" as Diane, orphan turned rich girl whose love of boys and clothes often comes before her school
work.
Born in Los Angeles on October 14, Bridget began ice-skating at an early age and was soon winning many local am national competitions. At the age of nine, she was encouraged to turn professional when MacDonald's offered to sponsor her career. Bridget turned them down in favor of pursuing a higher dream that of competing and winning a gold medal in the
Olympics. To fine-tune her skating, she began to study dance; ballet, tap and modern jazz, but a major knee injury at theage of 12 ended her hopes for the Olympic gold.
Thankfully, Bridget's attitude was a positive one and with the help of dance therapy as a means of rehabilitation, another career was born. As with skating, dancing now became
her focus and she spent almost 20 hours a week perfecting her craft. Dancing led to singing and acting lessons and by the time she was 13, Bridget as a professional entertainer.
In 1982 and 1983, she performed on stage in Radio City Music Hall with the world famous Rockettes in their Christmas spectaculars. This was followed by several other stage productions, guest appearances on several television series and a co-starring role in a television movie starring Ricky Schroeder, "Two Kinds of Love." She also had a running role
on "F.T.V." a local series on KTLA.
Her current and most exciting challenge is now playing the role on "Rags to Riches." Set in the early 1960's, the series will incorporate a lot of music from that era and Bridget will be able to use her fine singing voice. Bridget, who lives with her parents in Beverly Hills, loves to travel and study karate when she has the spare time. Her passion is shopping and she continues to ice skate and dance to keep herself in shape.
